The walls were flanked with eight life-size video installations of models wearing twenty-four individual looks, shot by artist and director Sharif Hamza. These video pieces highlighted the design, quality, and construction of the two collections that were styled together. Reinforcing the museum-like quality of the installation, the space was filled with faint, ambient sounds interwoven with buzzing overlapping conversations. Using motion-activated screens and individual sound beams, the videos were designed to encourage an intimate, one-on-one experience with the looks. As the individual screens were approached, the models came to life, giving guests the feeling of joining a conversation in progress. The models spoke to the idea that “The World is a Collection of Voices,” reciting a series of compelling and provocative statements in true Kenneth Cole fashion. The videos were looped and staggered in timing, so that the room was in a continual state of motion, allowing people to either watch the videos in their entirety, or in sections as they moved from screen to screen.

The minute Junior and I saw the thumbnail for the Just Cavalli Resort collection on the Style.com iPad app, we couldn’t resist but to see what was inside. For Resort 2013, Cavalli takes a page out of everyone’s books, and creates something that’s beyond amazing, and like a tee-shirt from the collection states, “Just Beautiful.” From the tropical mirrored prints, to the animal print that’s oh so Cavalli, the collection gave us a series of bold looks, that were all so over-the-top, and at the same time, very current. Styled with fitted caps, big gold hoops and an arm party of bangles, one can definitely see Cavalli’s futuristic inspiration for the collection, and its overall Hip Hop vibe. I am so in love with the blazers, the bomber and biker jackets, the pleated skirts, the high-waist shorts, chic tops, sassy dresses with Cavalli’s usual touch of fringe, and of course THE PRINTS. Let’s not even talk about the final piece, which was a long green leopard print dress, featuring a stunning split and ready to destroy the red carpet – like most of Cavalli’s pieces did – at Cannes 2012. At this point, nothing can compare! It was evidently a fuse of Givenchy, Prada, Proenza Schouler and Versace, but without a doubt, it was all  just too good! Take a look at the entire collection after the jump.

I’ve always been a believer in ‘naked’ technology from the time I first got a smartphone. But now, I think that having a cool case for your gadgets is always a good buy, especially one that’s stylish. I got this taupe Marc by Marc Jacobs neoprene sleeve for my white iPad 2, during a little splurge on MR PORTER; which is probably my second favorite online store after SSENSE. Like most things Marc Jacobs, I think it’s the perfect mix of quirk, style and class. And even though I was quite unsure as to what I’d want my iPad to be wearing this season, I think I made a good choice. What do you guys think?
