Superglamourous | The Introduction

Before I get to the topic of this article, let me say that I’m really sorry for my lack of posts recently.  My schedule has been quite overwhelming, and I’m trying to get so much work done, that needs to be done. Anyhow, you can look forward to my usual fun posts, as soon as I get rid of the piles of work I’m currently faced with. For quite some time, I’ve had a little advertisement on my sidebar, leading to the website of Italian shoe designers Superglamourous. About a week ago, I got a cool gift from them and I decided to share a bit on the company with you, as well as their gorgeous Lookbook.

Superglamourous brings back the Lombardic shoemaker excellence and turns it into tiny–but–exclusive selections of easy–fitting babouche: a remarkable and precious handicraft where the good taste and sobriety, as well as the Italian shoemaker quality are the values that rule every product. The easy–to–pick–out Superglamourous products are handmade by worldwide known Italian shoemakers; the manufacturing process, called “a guanto”, consists of sewing backwards each part of the babouche and turning them round again at the end… the result of this long–lasting process is a babouche extremely flexible and skin-tight.

The Head Designer, Riccardo Libertino was born on October 1986 in Milan, where he grew up and began his professional training. Attracted by the abundance of male fashion, he devoted himself, without becoming a fierce insider. He loves experimenting. After a capital experience as a freelance designer, he chose to engage in an ambitious and stimulating project, called SUPERGLAMOUROUS.

Marni for H&M | The Lookbook

Okay, I know that I’m a bit late with this post, but I’ve been so busy lately, and I’ve barely had to time to check my email – which in itself is a major mess! I’ve been trying to organize myself after losing all data on my last computer, and it’s been more than a task. I just noticed how much I like the latest collaboration from H&M, which will be hitting stores as early as next month. In all honesty, H&M’s collaborations just keep getting better and better, and after their recent Versace x H&M collection, the Marni collaboration is PERFECT for Spring/Summer 2012. With a plethora of patterns and a slew of colors, both man and woman are handled perfectly, provided with pieces from sunglasses and accessories, to t-shirts, dresses, trousers, leggings and parkas. More and more people are becoming big fans of H&M’s ever-growing collaborative efforts, and after seeing fellow blogger Pelayo Diaz in his all-yellow ensemble, I am ready to splurge! I have plans of posting the Official Price List to my Facebook page later, so go on and like it.

Versace for H&M Cruise 2012 | The Lookbook

Alike the Fall/Winter 2011 collaborative collection from fashion labels Versace and H&M, River Viiperi and Abbey Lee Kershaw step back into the spotlight, to headline the labels’ second collection together, for the Cruise 2012 season. The quirky female designs don’t seem to catch my eye as does the basic but stylish menswear collection. Nevertheless, the collection shows potential to once again sell out just hours after opening on January 19th, exclusively on H&M Online. The fruity prints, Versace glamour and denim will all prove to be major hits in coming weeks as fashionistas from all around the world get their computers and phones clicking. Versace for H&M | The Lookbook

Every year H&M’s collaborations just keep getting better and better. This season I am sure in saying that Versace for H&M is incredibly glorious, and its unmatched glamour and ‘edginess’ is going to earn it major sales. As menswear becomes more and more interesting, this collection, with its cool prints and patterns define itself as a headliner in making sure that men no longer dress boring. The leather pieces, the patterned pieces and all the embellishments scream to the highest degree Versace and if I don’t buy all of the men’s collection, I will definitely cop most of it. My favorites would have to be the button-up shirts with the metallic details on the collar, the leather biker jacket with gold embellishments, the patterned bomber jacket, the wrist cuff and the buckle-strap sneakers. Indeed my list can go on and on, but there’s no better way for you the experience the gorgeousness of this collection, than to see its preview for yourself.

Freedom 5 | The Return

There is nothing like an ‘underground’ brand who thrives on originality and distinct creativity. Many of you won’t remember my article on Freedom 5 during my earlier days of blogging, some of you probably weren’t even readers of my blog back then; however, to rewind a bit… Freedom 5 is a clothing label which was birthed in and operates out of Caribbean island Barbados.  To my knowledge, it is probably the most prominent Urban Fashion label on the island producing a range of tee shirt designs, along with other incredibly stylish pieces. Having said that, I wanted to post this eye-catching lookbook which was shot in the city of New York by up and coming lifestyle photographer Andre Mustapha, all in preparation for fall.

It captures the true essence of The City life, fused with eccentric style and cool vibes. With a surge of great designs, including their Logo Tees for which they have become well-known, Freedom 5 has indeed hit a mark which no other young label here has. As a Barbadian myself, I have no choice but to represent something that has prosperity and success written all over it. They continue to attain both international prominence, along with high quality and standard with their products. I for one am certainly looking forward to seeing the brand’s rapid progress as they seek to break mindsets and conquer our generation with one goal in mind. As the infamous motto of the brand states, “Style is Optional, but Freedom is Mandatory.” Make sure you check them out on Facebook for much more details, and get a hold of some of their wonderful products.

Ovadia & Sons | Spring/Summer 2012

Executed quite perfectly with every possible gent in mind, twin brother duo Shimon and Ariel Ovadia present their Spring/Summer 2012 collection based on manly essentials and evidently, simplicity. With the ultimate goal in mind to create classic and traditional menswear, Ovadia & Sons, who you may remember from (capsule) in NYC, source the globe’s finest fabrics, tailors and craftsmen to offer only the finest goods.  From dinner jackets to hand embroidered knit ties, their strong tailoring and incredible detail does not go unnoticed.  Everything seems to be my favorites and being quite the gentleman myself, I’m pretty much swooning over all the double-breasted blazers, as well as the great chinos, and that wonderful Safari look. Check out the Look-book below and don’t hesitate to tell me what you think by commenting, or even Liking or sharing on Twitter.

Marc Jacobs Menswear Spring/Summer 2012

Those of you have been my blog supporters from inception know how much I love Marc Jacobs. No one can attest to the fact that he is one of the biggest masterminds in the business, and in everything he does, whether it’s for Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs, or Marc by Marc Jacobs, there is always a high level of creativity and perfection.  Tapping on male model Leopold Nilsson and photographer Lorenzo Marcucci, Marc puts out his latest lookbook for his Spring/Summer 2012 collection. Like most of the time, the collection has a very quirky inspiration to it as it displays the ideal essentials for the S/S 2012 season. Zeroing in on details, the Marc Jacobs man takes on looks like the summer suit and trench, the cardigan, sunglasses and beaded accessories, along with an iconic gold-plated lace-up, amazing bags and a shimmering gold tee.  I love the incredible fusion of relaxed silhouettes and classic pieces, which allows Marc to set the standard for an effortless mix of work and play when approaching the new season. Marc Jacobs is simply a Style Genius and this is definitely my favorite lookbook this season… No doubt!
