Prada | Milan Menswear Spring/Summer 2012

Oh the power of Prada strikes again! After capturing the title of this season’s most coveted shoe (the Prada brogue) Miuccia Prada delivered an incredibly upbeat collection which was completely inspired by the freedom, fun and sportiness of summer. It was the only show I saw today, but as they repeatedly played songs which alluded the summer spirit, models maneuvered the maze-like setting of blue boxes, wearing from a variety of floral prints, geometrical prints, studded shirts with Western inspiration, and carrying studded bags, as well as golf bags filled with fabulous Prada-esque clubs. Tailored blazers, patterned shirts and hats, chic scarves and bags were essential elements that made up the outfit of the ideal Prada S/S 2012 man. But once more, the shoes were outstanding! Golf brogues came in a variety of color ways, topped with fringes, some with studs, and of course the golf pegs beneath them. I can’t say I’d wear them, but in the menswear arena, I can definitely see these shoes stealing the prize once more, for the ‘it’ shoe, of summer.
